Archaeologists discovered several papyrus fragments in Wadi al-Dhart on the Red Sea. They are the records of a construction crew who moved limestone from Tura to Giza. The material was intended for the construction of the Cheops pyramid around 4,600 years ago. Egyptologists have now found out more precisely why and how the logbook of the pyramid workers got to the Red Sea and what the data reveal about the construction site in Giza – first and foremost about the place where it was found.
