It could (legitimately) be an "out of place artifact"... but we'll never know because of the complete lack of provenance.

However, it's clearly not Egyptian... if anything it frankly looks more modern (the separation of the teeth and tongue in the mouth, the detail on the ears) I'd have said it was Chinese... I assume since it's not dated by radiocarbon that it's stonework.
