Thank you for the post, interesting paper.

Though speculative, you've in a round-about way shown the relation of linear metrology to measure of time via the displacement of shadows, which since we live on earth and orbit the sun revealed to the earliest folks the most basic form of time related to location. Can we say linear measure is but an expression of time?... I think so, since the rotation of earth combined with its orbit around the sun are intractable aspects of time, which is entirely dependent on size or scale.
