From a comment at the end of this article:

"I agree there has to be a reasonable explanation of the water erosion found on the quarry walls around the Sphinx. That the erosion is caused by water is attested to by many experts when they are merely shown photographs of sections (without them knowing it is around the Sphinx) so they can't be biased. Knowing what we currently know about the climate in that area it can't very well be maintained that the Sphinx does not date to the time when the climate in that location was very different; and that time is not 2500 BC."
