Well, I stand corrected then. The last time I encountered this was in dealing with Crighton and the Khufu/Raufu mess (very tiresome.) He had no familiarity with honorific transpositions and ... well, heck, part of the discussion showed up over here. His scholarship is poor and his knowledge of the culture is smaller than mine and I had never encountered any question about the name -- except in one text that was written shortly after Champoleon had translated the Rosetta Stone and the understanding of the language was in its infancy.

I confess to a bias on this.
