Here's a truly stupid question that perhaps someone can answer.

In the Mercer translation of the PT the word "bow" (English) appears
many times. It's often obviously means to genuflect or obviously re-
fers to the weapon. There are also the "nine bows" which are thought
to refer to their enemies.

There are other times it looks as though the word might refer to an
arc (like a rainbow or a curved surface).

Is it possible that Mercer might use the word without suggesting an
alternate meaning or that the Egyptian word might also have been the
same?

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.
