Or maybe it was just an artistic convention, like the heavy hips and
bellies??? I find myself remembering a certain early American artist,
(sorry, can't remember the name) all of whose portrait subjects had the
same dark, almond shaped eyes. We may be dealing with the same phenomena,
especial given that Nefer is far from the only royal, or commoner, depicted
with this trait.
