In his 'A History of Egyptian Architecture', Badaway has some drawings of granaries (silos, towers) and mud models of series of silos. (fig. 44 p.59)


"Two types of granaries can be differentiated. a) The silo, or cylindrical tower covered with a cupola and built it rows, on a platform on both sides of a court. They were filled from the top and emptied through a square sliding door at the bottom........Sometimes a conical stopper closes the top aperture. b) A slightly varying form is a square tower with corner posts and covered with a flat cupola or slanting roof.........."
