as I replied to Clive in the other thread...It is a boundary of the Necropolis. the gate is the entrance way for the workers. Probably the changing guards and temple personnel as well.

I can't see a causeway as anything but an Official , and of course symbolic, entrance


Why does every component of the Complexes need to have Numerical and or geometric significance?

Sometimes doors are doors and wall are walls.

The grounds at Giza were Not to be wandered about in like the parklands and courtyards in a modern day Graveyard.

the causeways were a conduit THROUGH the grounds of the Necropolis from the VT to the MT and Pyramid enclosure
