Just a follow-up:
The Abu Ballas find of 2003 is discussed, along with discovered senet game boards, hieratic writing of the 18th Dynasty, and the representation of a pharaoh in this article at the
British Museum Studies in Ancient Egypt and Sudan (BMAES) 7 website under this title:
With donkeys, jars and water bags into the Libyan Desert: the Abu Ballas Trail in the late Old Kingdom/ First Intermediate Period/Frank Förster (PDF)
Images are included.
Borda and Marai claim their new site is 650 kilometres/ca. 400 miles further on than Bergmann's 2003 find (Borda was apparently part of the 2003 Bergmann expedition, and so claims this is not the same site).
I suppose we'll just have wait until February to see what this is all about.
