That is not the reason at all.
When one speaks about legal matter, whether one is a lawyer, or even a person with a JD degree who has stood for the bar exam or not, the American Bar Association can regulate what your actions are when speaking about the law, and
require how you must constantly notify the public that you are not a practicing attorney within the confines of your comments to lists such as these on the Internet.
This disclaimer protects the public from relying upon what's written here by realising that it's merely discusssion information and not legal counsel.
The wording above came directly from the Alabama Bar Association, and as I am not speaking as an Egyptologist but as a person with legal training on this issue, the disclaimer, according to the Bar Association,
must be included.
