They are Old Kingdom Mastabas, described by Dieter Arnold as "badly destroyed". You can walk to them but there's little to see and the layout is clearer on the satellite view than it is on the ground. I've occasionally seen a vehicle in the area but I don't think there's been any work down since the 19th Century.
