It's not only the organic material and water that came from space but,
almost certainly, life itself. There hasn't been long enough time for
life on Eart to share such a vast array of genes yet still have a large
percentage of these genes switched off or not relevant. The seed of
life was probably blown in on a solar wind launched from a planet whose
sun went nova.
