Here is another Description de l'Egypte in French...

Something that stood out to me on the map is a Serapeum in Eastern Egypt, around the Suez Canal and Lake Amers.

This appears on another French Map as well:
[
www.bibleorigins.net]
"Below, the ancient canal appears to stop short of entering the Great Bitter Lake, just to the east of the Suez Canal- was this an "unfinished" canal ? The Serapeum lies on a ridge just west of the Suez Canal. (cf. V 87.803 Carte hydrographique de l'Basse Egypte et d'une partie de l'Isthme de Suez. 1855, 1882. Paris)"

Does anybody know anything about this Eastern Serapeum? Here is another link to it:
[
books.google.com]
"To the west of Tussum a large group of dunes occurs which runs to the south-south-west and at kilomether 90 we reach the Serapeum..."
