I wouldn't count on the alternative being "abdomination". According to an estimation only some 10% of all bodies were mummified in AE. The rest was buried in the ground. This is very probably the origin of texts composed to keep off the worms and the putrification (now that was a horror!). Fat chance in the Delta area, though.
