pg 249 (discussing the valley temple of Menkaure)

"The function of the temple gradually changed. Not long after it was completed, people began living in it, and many grain storehouses and lodgings were built, particularly in the courtyard. probably during the Fith Dynasty the temple was severely damaged by water after a heavy rain literally tore away It's west side."

certainly rainfall like this would have had a visable effect on exposed and exfoliated poor quality limestone in the area???

Anyone with detailed info on this damage and how it was accorded to rainfall...ttbomk by Reisner???
