Is there no end to the brilliance.., the insight.., the deductive powers of that 'post ancient egyptian' entrepreneur Zahi Hawass.

Once again he has breathed new life into that almost past 'use-by-date science of egyptology.

Zahi.., has- after years of patient research aided by cutting edge scientific technology- finally identified the mummy of that mysterious and imposing female pharoah, Hatshepsut.

How was this breath-taking new find finally established.., one may ask?

Well.., it all has to do with a tooth. There was this tooth fragment found in a small wooden casket with the name of Hatshepsut inscribed upon it. And there were two unidentified mummies that some had speculated might indeed be Hatshepsut and her wet nurse
[ one might well ask what the 50 yr old Hatshepsut was doing in the same tomb as her wet-nurse, but we'll press on ].

The tooth fragment was found to be a pretty neat fit with the stump of a tooth in one of these mummies.., and dna testing seemed to support that possibility.

Well..., there are..it must be admitted, a few little teensy-weensy queries which must be addressed in order to absolutely establish the authenticity of this find....;
firstly..., why would a tooth in any casket inscribed with a pharoah's name necessarily have anything to do with that particular pharoah[ maybe someone just had toothache and hoped for a reprieve by positing an old tooth into the shrine of a powerful personage]

And the other thing.., even Zahi had to admit that the cadaver of this particular mummy was not that of your average run-of-the-mill ancient AE beauty queen..., which is seriously at odds with the few unmutilated effigies of Hatshepsut.., who was a delight to the eye.., a real little charmer.

But.., it is of course.., still early days on this one.
