There IS a logical explanation and that is the question IF Khufu and Khafre really intended to place the entrance in the particular cases of G1 and G2 in the center of their base.
There is even a second logical explanation for this feature, namely 'miscalculation', IF there has been any calculation at all regarding the location of the entrances with refer to the center of the base.
In an earlier thread, I mentionned that the AE were intuïtive builders, that, imho, they pre-planned and planned fewer than we think. We are modern humans and when we construct a building, we plan every detail. The Ancient Egyptians lived 4500 years ago and had a totally different concept (feeling) of stone/stone-constructing. What I am trying to say is that they did not need extensive/detailed plans, certainly not for the construction of huge pyramids of which the biggest part consists of expanded stone-layers and only a very small part of cavities (relief chambers, galleries, King's Chamber, ...).
