The tomb of Kheru-ef, with these as figures of the /
xnr/ dancers and hand-clappers, as part of Amenhotep III's third /
sd/ festival celebrations.
Published as
Epigraphic Survey in Cooperation with the Department of Antiquities of Egypt. 1980.
The Tomb of Kheruef. Theban Tomb 192. Oriental Institute Publications 102. Chicago: Oriental Institute. (Specifically Plates 34, 36, 38 and 40).
The text above the /
xnr/ dancers says:
He has give to me a pod of seeds, so has done the garner man. As for the pod of seeds, I have fully roasted it and have fully ground it. O garner man, what I have protected has been removed, what I have protected has been removed, so that what should be high is exalted. You spend all night, exalted one, being exalted. My eyes are bloodshot, through staring while they are inverted. O you whose..., whose tongue, whose throat, and whose /nDD/ are exalted, you are exalted. On you who have sharp nails, you are /nXat/...as a son...come forth from...field...
The text above the clapping women says:
Singing.
Jubilate, jubilate!
Pray, make jubilation, be effusive!
