Some of these Egyptian Gods have references by other cultures... I don't want to debate the merits of these non-egyptian myths, within the Primary Egyptian Topic. But I have chosen to list some of them.
*********************
[www.theoi.com]
"The Serbonian Lake or Marsh lay on the borders of Egypt and Phoenicia. Typhoeus was here identified with the Egyptian god Set, who was believed to have been vanquished by Osiris in the marsh."-- Aeschylus, Suppliant Women 556
*********************
"The Gnostic/Biblical Seth considerably post-dates the AE Seth, yet there are aspects of the later cults that do show association and derivation..."

-- I will create a different topic to discuss the "Egyptian references by Josephus" at a later time.

The last one from Josephus (or Eusebius?) is his reference to "Avaris" as a "Typho's City". Manetho via Syncellus seems to translate Set as Typhon. Avaris was a city of Set; It was also a city of foreigners. If there is history within this mythology, it looks a bit garbled.
