Ground uplift detected northwest of Þorbjörn
New data reveals a complex process of magma
movements on the Reykjanes Peninsula

This is interesting because the cemter of the uplift signal
is around 1.5 km northwest of Þorbjörn, close to the Blue
Lagoon and Svartsengi Power Station. In 2020 and 2022,
similar uplift signals were detected in the same area and
with similar geometry.
