Raccoons and ravens routinely get into the trash here. Coyotes still sing. They've learned the traffic patterns and follow the lights. Barn owls have moved in to one of the neighbors' trees; they were hooting loudly the other night.
The wildflower superbloom is in full swing right now. On the hills are smears of flourescent poppies. Fields of blue/purple lupines, white flowers, yellow mustard and of course the poppies. Every piece of bare land has flowers. Add in the almond trees in full bloom, and it's pollen hell. Very pretty to look at, but the overwhelming scent of all the blooms makes it hard to breathe.
