hole-in-one: capturing dust from a meteoroid’s fiery
demise: Dust from a meteoroid explosion over
Antarctica was detected by the Davis lidar. Australian
Antarctic Magazine, no. 8, pp. 5-6 (Autumn 2005) at

According to the article, the meteorite was 7–10 m
diameter, had a mass of 600–1900 tonnes, yielded
an explosion equivalent to 12,000 tonnes of TNT (the
yield of the Hiroshima nuclear bomb), was composed
of olivine, and impacted at 13 km/s.
