Hurricane caused 'tallest wave'
BBC News, UK - August 4, 2005, [news.bbc.co.uk]

Scientists documented 27.7 meter high wave during
Hurricane Ivan in Gulf of Mexico. This is 8 meters
higher than the Sphinx and 23 meters higher than
a British double decker bus. Maximum wave height
during Hurricane Ivan might have been as high as
40 meters according to an interview on National
Public Radio.
