because the "R-B effect" is one of the pieces of technobabble used
by him in an attempt to make the gibberish that he publishes about
Earth catastrophes sound half-way scientific and justify the use
of the incredibly antiquated and obsolete theories of Charles Hapgood,
which have now been consigned to the compact shelving storage in
modern libraries.
