Paul, I've got something that crosses over between your area of expertise & his.

It's a large grinding stone (Archaic era?) from the Oklahoma Ozarks, made out of that same crinoid bearing limestone mentioned in the article. My grandmother found it when she was a young woman, and left it to me.

Too bad it's of no use for residual protein analysis.... she put it to use as a processing table when making rattlesnake bone necklaces (would first set the partially cleaned bones on it for the ants to finish off, then poured bleach over the lot to disinfect). She made beautiful necklaces (& deer toe rattles, tortoiseshell rattles, "tommyhawks", etc). But I do wish she'd used a different "table."
