This is classic. Its amazing how many academic papers descend into jargon that is simply incomprehensible to anyone apart from a handful of specialists.

Here is a sentence from an article I was struggling through yesterday:

"The persistent idealism of a western discourse of representation that emerged afterwards, during the Enlightenment, subsumed this transcendended materiality to orders of classification, and made it something of an occult quality of western philosophy"...

I almost understood it as well..
