No, I can't,and I think would almost prefer to be here groundside when and if that happens.

Did you inadvertantly merge two sentences above?

But to to answer you, if I understand what you are saying, I don't expect to see a functioning station in my lifetime. However, once a station is up (if it ever is) that station will be essentially self reliant. All it will need to continue long-term is sunlight and raw material from the moon or from asteroids.
