Very short question concerning light. Our atmosphere causes raleigh scattering of light causing the sky to look blue. I was wondering if light would still be this even if we didn't have an atmosphere. Presumably, this is why sunlight on the moon is enough to blind astronauts. How will this affect plant life on earth and what is the situation like on Mars where the atmosphere is 1% of ours?

btw, i was looking for some links on this and found this [mars-news.de] Zapper
