The artistic world has been shaken up by programs like MidJourney, to the point where artists are concerned about their income (I've seen AI generated images for sale at a dealer table... a bit disheartening for an artist like myself who can spend days on a complex piece.) And it turns out that writers aren't safe, either.
It seems AI has been scooping up fanfic in its process of learning to write. This is not necessarily good... there's some toxic-waste, bury-in-the-depths-of-a-neutron-star level fanfic out there-- as well as some remarkably good pieces.

While we'd love to shove the genie back in the bottle, it's actually here to stay and the question for creatives is now "where do we go from here?"
