It was yesterday. I have forgotten all about it. It was a school thing for me and I never remembered to celebrate this after I have left school.

It is the day of thanking Goddess of Knowledge, Saraswathi (not river saraswathi).

"Paalum theli-thenum paahum paruppumivai
Naalum kalanthunakku naan tharuvaen
Kolamsei, thungakkanimuhathtu,
thoomaniyae nee enakku
sangathamil moondrum thaa.."


"I will offer you by mixing all the four, i.e., milk, clear-honey, cane-sugar-jaggery, and lentils. Oh, the pure, the fruitlike, Goddess, please give me all the three Tamils of Sangam"

in school, all the children were asked to bring whatever they want to keep in the prayer. We used to pack our books and keep it infront of the the statue of Goddess and prayed and believed that we will excel in that subject!!!
It is a state holiday in Tamil Nadu.
