I don't know much about him, but he seems like he was a good man who dedicated his life to doing a necessary, but undesireable job, in memory of his family, and so that people who do these sort of things will always know that they will always be brought to justice.

I think what he said was, to paraphrase: For justice, not for revenge....which is a lesson to remember.
