Oxfam Launches $2 Million Appeal as Katrina Devastation Mounts
11 September, 2005, [www.oxfamamerica.org] and "In
Southern Louisiana, Oxfam Team Encounters Grim Remains of
Katrina" at [www.oxfamamerica.org].

Of the areas hit by Hurricane Katrina, Plaquemines and
St. Bernard Parishes, possibly because of the attention
given nearby New Orleans, has been largely ignored despite
having been largely obliterated. The Red Cross and FEMA
have done almost nothing for these people. As a result,
I would urge people to donate some of their money to
OXFAM, instead of Red Cross, because like the the City
of Vancouver in British Columbia, OXFAM seems to be
among one of the very few agenies, either NOG or
governmental, that have been actively helping the
people in these parishes.
