I just came across this name and was surprised!!! Until now I thought it was a old tamil game... ofcourse with a different name, Pallanguli/pannanguli - meaning "14 depressions/pits/holes"..

The one I know (have played) is not shown in any of the figures shown here,
[www.tradgames.org.uk] , but, it closely resembles the following one with 12 holes...


we use tamarind seeds in these boards.. Just after tamarind harvest, this game used to be popular and I was very addicted to this.....

I will bring this when I go home next time.smiling smiley
