..opera director Peter Sellars' New York productions of Mozart operas in the late 1980's. I watched all of them on PBS. The Marriage of Figaro took place in a Trump Towers penthouse; Don Giovanni was sung by Black twins wearing only white briefs; and Cosi fan tutte was staged in a Westchester diner. They were so campy and different that I enjoyed them immensely just for the daring costumes and original scenes.

I think they're available on DVD too. Now, don't expect them to be as great as a Karl Bohm or Glendybourne production, but just think of Sellars as a kind of operaworld Tim Burton or someone like that.
