Premaji, I laughed most immoderately at the entire post. For a while, over twenty years ago, I was a heavy drinker. Needless to say, everything our philosopher said was right on!
On the subject of tobacco, those early strains of pipeweed had much more potent levels of nicotine than our modern, wimpy, hybrids. Combined with assorted genital piercings and assorted blood-lettings, they were used to induce visions. I just bet they did that very thing!
