Oddly enough, I rarely see bolo ties being sold by local artisans but I do see them often in pawn shops around the area...strange, isn't it? I saw an older Navajo man dressed in a blend of traditional and contemporary the other day. He looked absolutely fantastic. His hair was bound in yarn into a long bun with a button down shirt overlaid by a turquoise necklace and concha belt over jeans. Was a neat look and I'll have to find out what the name is for that style of necklace. It was disc shaped turquoise stacked to make a tube with a loop at the bottom. I've seen a couple women wear it but it seems to be more popular with the men out here.
