There is a similar festival in Tamil traditions.. "manjal thanni theliththal" litterally meaning "spraying yellow water"... unlike holi, women take full advantage of this festival to tease men (no touching business in tamil culture) by spraying turmuric mixed water on men.. this festival is celebrated on the Panguni pongal day (last week of panguni month of tamil calendar which falls on first week of April) when everyone wears new clothes. women spray turmeric mixed water on men spoiling their new clothe... (water is not sprayed on women, since making women wet will expose their body and that is considered insulting womenhood.. )... wome select men they like and tease them.... could be any man, but not brothers/father and brother/father-like relations...
