I recall a UFO Researcher being found guilty of attempting to poison a politician with radioactive toothpaste!
He's still in prison, I think, claiming that he was framed to cover up that he knew about some conspiracy or other...

Obsession: The John Ford Story
looks like he never stood trial, but got sent off to a mental institution...
rich pickings for conspiracy buffs there, methinks!
