Has to be a hoax/gimmick IMO.
How do they know they are there to visit, if they have never been contacted...
Papua may be mountanous, but i can't see it being large enough that 50-100 years of colonial or external knowledge/tools/prospecting/trade/clothes/objects haven't filtered through to all the tribes/villages.
