Hi Roxana
I've actually only seen the cartoon version of this - there are other books of CS Lewis I find his genius in that are not the childens ones. But I rekon his genius is no less present in "Narnia". I also missed the "lion of judah" aspect when I first saw the cartoon - completely. But I saw it much later on TV - after I'd 'changed' - and I think it was the first time I had tears running down my face post the 16-or-whatever, I-am-supposedly-a-man;boys-dont-cry stage of life. Maybe thats a UK 'public' school thing ?
The very best traditions and stories of all societies are those that approach something our puny minds can never really understand fully in a logical way.
It may surprise an element of ourselves - but there is very little we understand fully. I'd really be interested if someone can suggest something they know fully ?
These stories put into abstract terms something we can see as a good story, as many others do, but more importantly something where each time we hear it we understand something different about something it represents - and also realise yet again how little we really understand that 'thing'. But of course we need to try to understand what the story teller is saying to understand its meaning.
Else its just entertainment at best. Not such a bad thing - but even then its still less than half as entertaining. Let alone all the rest.
