I didn't even know that Fowles rewrote The Magus. lol

I didn't enjoy reading it at all, and promptly forgot what I read as soon as school was out. I'll have to go dig out that old paper if I still have it. If not, believe me, it's no great loss.

I also had to read a book by Margaret Drabble, The Realms of Gold, about a female archaeologist who had an interesting scene upside down in the mud where she lost her shoe. It was a fun read but hard to take seriously, which I think we were supposed to do. Fowles, on the other hand, was hard not to take way too seriously... far worse in a way. Of course, now I'm all grown up and far too mature and highminded to think in those old gradschool ways any more. Right-e-o.
