One thing to look out for. In his early books (SATS and FOG) he is extremely cautious about not putting forward his own theory - all he does is collect other people's ideas and present them and then attach a number of potential hypotheses to them; in fact, it isn't really until "Heaven's Mirror", with his attempts to find other precessional star chart / temple matches, that he really starts admitting to "ownership" of any particular idea!
