Reminds me of how - many, many, many years ago - I used to read and enjoy Enid Blyton's Noddy & Big Ears stories - blissfully unaware of the racism and violence* that (according to current PC thinking) permeated every page!!

*e.g. Noddy whipping a golliwog with a boot lace. This particular episode was pointed out to me fairly recently by a friend who read a Noddy story to his three-year old son. He went on to tell me that his son appeared more concerned about Big Ears at some point in the story knicking the bell off of Noddy's hat
