One of the more interesting message boards that I have found is the Professional Pilots Rumor Network message board. It is a message board where professional and private pilots get together and chat about the latest news and rumors in aviation. Although they Geek Out as only as practicing pilot can, it is all quite informative and fascinating. It is also scary in terms of how complicated aircraft and flying a plane be. Also, you learn about news that gets lost elsewhere. Unfortunately, it can get technical, but don't let that scare anyone away.

Some the forums are:

Rumor and News - PPRuNe

Accidents and Close Calls - PPRuNe

My main complaint is that as a part of geeking out acronyms and abbreviations can fly fast, and Google often does not help. I guess that happens on similar message boards.

I wish either archaeology, geology, paleontology or all could have a message board like PPRuNe.

A recent thread that started is:

MH370 revisited

It includes discussion, often not favorable, of:

Years-long search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 may
be drawing to an end following groundbreaking research report.
