When Akhenaten change the capital he enraged the priests and the merchants who sold statues of the gods and made their living from that .Who sold statues of the gods and made their living from that and by changing the religious pole, the previous pole was no longer profitable. Akhenaten made very powerful enemies. Money talks too loud unfortunately. By the way he is my favorite Pharaoh. He was incredible.
