Hey Kat,
Darkuser here! Everybody has pretty much said all there is to say. Of course there are much more interesting things to do in the subject than moderating forums. Reading and writing up articles as you say, not to mention traveling to all those fascinating places you've read about, Peru, Egypt etc. You should really consider it
I hope you do consider keeping a position here though, even if it just means coming back now and then and using your moderation privileges
I'm sure we've all gotten used to the moderation rules and standards, but the task can be a little hefty as you know. If necessary, you might want to find a few more moderators among the old-timers here.
And yes this board is still one of favorites, though i post less often then i used to. Pseudoscience is always around. There will be always be people coming up with all sorts of ideas about Egypt and the Gizamids, numerology is as close as anything to inexhaustible, and there will always be Bosnian pyramids popping up. This place is almost always my first stop when a controversial Dan Brown or James Cameron comes into the spotlight, not to mention the likes of the more traditional Menzies, whose book still populates the historical sections of book stores, to my irritation.
Anyway i'm rambling, but my point is that you should indeed be proud of this site and all the work you've put into it over the last six years. I hope it will continue indefinitely, even if it means change as forums do. Meanwhile, i wish you the best in whatever it is you pursue. I'm sure Hermione will do just fine.
Best,
Darkuser
