In the last two weeks a wealthy plastic surgeon in Houston ran over two British women working on the show Animal Planet. It was a hit and run about 9pm close to the Galleria. The women were walking on the sidewalk to meet people at a restaurant and all of a sudden the drunk surgeon in his Mercedes veers off the road, runs them down, and leaves. Both women were knocked into the air and injured seriously, but they survived.

The surgeon, who has a history of drug and alcohol abuse, and who has spent time in rehab and twelve-step programs at the order of a judge, spent a night in jail and then returned to work last week.

As Molly Ivins says: there's one justice for the rich and another for the poor.
