Everest is so high that all you can really see from its height are clouds and other mountaintops. This gives me the sense that that's all there is to the world or the universe. I wonder if there ever were people who lived in that kind of scenery all the time, because that would have framed their entire consciousness and worldview, including the ways of expression. I suspect that sensory perception is the force that animates evolution of spirit and mind, in a "sense." [slight cough]
