The journal, Archaeological Prospection, which published the
now retracted Gunung Padang paper, just published a paper
about "pseudoarchaeological colonialism". It is:

Wadsworth, W.T., Halmhofer, S. and Supernant, K., 2023.
Saying what we mean, meaning what we say: Managing
miscommunication in archaeological prospection.
Archaeological Prospection. open access paper
Abstract - [onlinelibrary.wiley.com]
PDF - [onlinelibrary.wiley.com]

the two examples that they cite are "(1) denialism surrounding
unmarked graves at former Indian Residential Schools and
(2) the reinterpretation of Indigenous spaces by Graham
Hancock's Ancient Apocalypse."

Yours,

Paul H.
